This policy describes how buildmateriallist.com handles information when you use our calculators. No account is required.
Storage on your device
We use localStorage to remember your theme preference, recent calculations and material checklists. Tools that offer editable budgets also store those budgets locally. This information stays in your browser unless you use a feature that sends calculation data to our server. You can remove local data through your browser’s site-data settings.
Calculation data
We store calculation inputs, resolved parameters, assumptions, results and the source page in Supabase to understand calculator usage and reliability. We also record handoff actions such as printing or sending a list to a phone. Avoid entering personal or sensitive information in project descriptions.
IP addresses
When an IP hashing salt is configured, our calculation service applies HMAC-SHA256 to the IP address before storing the resulting hash with the calculation. If the salt is not configured, no IP hash is stored. The calculation record does not store a raw IP address. Hosting providers may process IP addresses in their own operational logs.
Aggregate analytics
When configured, Plausible provides aggregate page and feature-usage analytics. We use these measurements to understand which calculators and actions are useful.
Advertising and other sites
We have not connected an ad network. Empty reserved ad spaces do not load advertising or ad-network tracking. Links to pricetobuild and other sites take you to services with their own privacy policies.
